Hello Stephanie, since you posted your inquiry at my cemetery forum, I have had a chance to visit this cemetery, transcribed and photo documented many stones. I have also posted this same message from my tombstone project email addy, so forgive me if you get it twice. I do have pictures of two different memorials containing the name Stephen Ritter. I believe they are two different individuals, possibly father and son, although I have no proof of this. One is Stephen Ritter, died Oct. 21, 1867, aged 77y & 6 mo. This places a birth date of about April 1790. Since he would have been in his seventies during the Civil War, it's extremely unlikely he served in the military during this period. The reason for this statement will become obvious in my next transcription. The second Stephen Ritter inscription is on a white marble military marker, "Company A, 95th Reg. Ohio Infantry", with a GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) bronze flag holder situated next to his stone. This GAR medal is consistent with veterans that served our country during the Civil War. My thoughts are that this individual would most likely be youngest of the two individuals. I would estimate this second individual with the military marker is perhaps younger by 30 or more years, with a birth date most likely between 1820 and 1846. here's a link to the cemetery transcriptions and photos, I just added to the project. Please note that I mixed the two links up to the actual images are opposite what they should be. Sorry I will get them rearranged soon. Kindest regards. Robert Sizelove
