Cleveland Cemetery

Katie, there are hundreds of cemeteries in this area. Cleveland encompasses a lot of territory. The easiest way to find which cemetery might be to check the free pages of a genealogy site, check out Social Security Death data. This information can be found by doing a surname search. This will give you the death date and zip code of last residence. Once this is known, you can check with some of the genealogical societies of the area, look for surname indexes and don't forget to check the genealogical society archives for obits in local papers, near or next day after death occurred. Perhaps this will help narrow down your search area for the burial site. Once you are able to establish state where individual died, you can request a copy of death certificate, this usually includes cause of death, location and undertaker, and doctor. At the bottom of certificate, there's usually a location of burial. Good luck with your search. Robert

Postby MaggieOhio on Mon Feb 23, 2009 7:18 am

Hi Katie,

At the Cleveland Necrology Index
http://dxsrv4.cpl.org/WebZ/QUERY?sessio ... 1737826175

I found the following:
Id#: 0474276
Name: Demchock, Thomas
Date: May 27 1973
Source: Plain Dealer; Cleveland Necrology File, Reel #104.
Notes: Demchock. Thomas Demchock, age 18, at Cambridge, Mass., beloved son of Louis and Morgerat (nee Krene), brother of Jean and Karen, grandson of Alma Demchock. Funeral Mass Saturday, May 26, of 9:30 a.m. of Our Lady of Peace Church, Cleveland, O. Arrangements By Maher-Melbourne Inc.

This doesn't list the cemtery but you might contact the church or funeral home for additional information.

Good Luck,
Maggie
